Flair Announces $49 Flight From Halifax To Ontario
HALIFAX—Halifax Stanfield International Airport will host another super-cheap flight to Ontario this summer. Discount airline Flair has announced a new flight between Halifax and Windsor, Ontario.
Windsor sits just across the border from the U.S. city of Detroit and is approximately four hours from Toronto by car.
Flair’s new flight to the city will start running on July 8 and fly twice a week. The airline says a one-way ticket between Halifax and Windsor will cost $49.
Flair’s new, cheap flight out of Halifax comes just a few weeks after a newcomer to the East Coast airline market made a splash with its own deep-discount flights to the Greater Toronto Area.
Last month, Calgary-based Lynx Air announced two new flights out of Halifax that will start in June: a $69 flight to Toronto and a $49 flight to Hamilton.
All the new routes, including others announced by WestJet and Air Canada, add to a growing list of flights out of the Halifax airport. During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the airport was hosting just a handful of flights each week.
Flair’s new flight is one of several the airline announced out of Windsor this summer. Other destinations include Montreal and Tucson, Arizona.
They add to the airline’s expanding network, which shrunk considerably during the Covid-19 pandemic but now sits at about 30 cities. Flair says it’s also expanding its fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft.
