New Entry Into Halifax’s Discount Airline Market Offers $69 Flights To Toronto
HALIFAX–A new, ultra-discount airline has entered the Halifax market.
Lynx Air has announced it will start flying between Halifax and the Toronto region by the end of June.
The airline says those flights will come from two new routes. One, between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Halifax, will run three times a week starting June 30, and increase to five times a week by July 30.
The second will fly between Hamilton and Halifax twice a week. It will start running June 29.
On March 17, the Lynx Air website was advertising one-way, Halifax-to-Toronto flights for $69, including airport fees.
Lynx’s new flights are part of a major expansion of the airline’s services out of the Toronto region. Along with new routes to Halifax, the airline has also announced new flights to St. John’s, Edmonton, and Calgary.
Lynx Air is an ultra-discount airline based out of Calgary. The company was previously known as Enerjet but rebranded in November of 2021.
Enerjet was founded in 2006 by a group of private investors that included former WestJet VP and co-founder Tim Morgan.
