Moncton Entrepreneur ‘Living the Dream’ as DIY Home Improvement Takes Off
MONCTON – If you’re looking for your next DIY project, The Painted Pineapple is the place to go. Lisa Casey, owner of The Painted Pineapple says the shop is more than just paint and that she’s here to help with all home décor needs.
The Painted Pineapple is most known for paint but has quite a few other offerings. Casey says that the paint in which they carry is very high-quality, high-adhesion paint that is used primarily for furniture but can be used for anything. She also says that the paints in which they carry are free of latex and harmful chemicals, so safe to use.
Being painters themselves, Casey says that at The Painted Pineapple, they pride themselves in the fact that they are there to help customers throughout every step of their projects.
“We really pride ourselves on being able to kind of like hold our customers’ hands through their projects and guide them through the process and give them confidence and inspiration to achieve their desired look at home,” Casey tells Huddle.
However, alongside the paint, The Painted Pineapple also carries a wide variety of other products. Casey says that there are many other products that she likes to say are “for gifting or for nesting.” These include things such as glamourous robes from the UK, soaps from France, and more.
Having moved from Toronto and taken over the business from a friend back in 2017, she has come to rebrand it and make it her own. In March of 2020, she changed the name to The Painted Pineapple. Then, with Covid-19, she had become quite popular amid Moncton since everyone was staying home and doing DIY projects.
“Not to sound corny, but I’m absolutely living my dream,” says Casey.
Casey says that she wants to share her passion and love for art and painting with others.
“The paint goes beyond just the end result of having something painted,” she says. It is not just about the end result; it is also about the experience and the joy of having something you’ve made yourself that you’re proud of.
Today, The Painted Pineapple is located at 179 Bonaccord Street in Moncton, inside an old house. They carry local products from businesses such as Educated Beards, Wabanaki Maple, Coastal Design Candles, and others from not only New Brunswick but across Canada.
Casey says that she used to hold paint night events at The Painted Pineapple and wants to bring them back in the future. She is just searching for an appropriate space to hold these events at.
She wants people to know that The Painted Pineapple is there to help everyone at every step of their projects. But also that The Painted Pineapple is more than just paint.
“We are more than just paint,” she says. “We’ve got a store full of all kinds of cool stuff.”
