Atlantic Host Hotel Joins Forces With Trademark Collection by Wyndham
BATHURST — A four-star Bathurst hotel has joined forces with the Wyndham hotel chain.
The Atlantic Host is an independently owned hotel, located in Bathurst, New Brunswick. This month, the hotel announced its collaboration with Trademark Collection by Wyndham.
Sarabpreet (Rickey) Randhawa is the owner of the Atlantic Host. He explains that the collaboration was long overdue. As a small-town hotel, the Atlantic Host wanted to expand its clientele while enhancing its services.
“A lot of big companies look for chain hotels, so hopefully that global reach Wyndham has, will bring more people to town,” said Randhawa.
Nonetheless, the Atlantic Host wanted to maintain the local approach it was known for. It has been established in Bathurst for over 44 years and losing that identity was not negotiable. Because of this, the hotel decided to go with a franchise approach.
“We wanted to make sure the Atlantic name was still there,” said Randhawa. “Such an iconic name and iconic hotel, we want to make sure that we keep the integrity that’s associated with the hotel.”
The collaboration with Wyndham provides it with more staff training and other benefits for its customers, like giving them the opportunity to build Wyndham rewards and providing services with the Wyndham standards.
The owner explained that it was important for the Atlantic Host to keep the same hospitality locals were familiar with but also provide further perks for all its clients.
Despite the recent changes, the Atlantic Host is still managed locally, maintaining its current staff and local suppliers. However, the owner expects to see improvement in the quality of their services through the extensive staff training Wyndham will provide.
“Staff [will] have the opportunity to go study, enhance their skills more,” said Randhawa. “So for the new staff that comes on board who are young, they can learn a bit more through Wyndham.”
Ultimately, the Atlantic Host hopes that from this partnership it can get global recognition, and through that, attract more people to visit Bathurst, and its establishment.
