Dieppe’s Acadian Construction Expands to Nova Scotia
HALIFAX — A storied New Brunswick construction management company has made its way to Nova Scotia.
Acadian Construction, a third-generation company that has been around for 60 years, made the announcement official on April 19.
The company is headquartered in Dieppe but will host its Nova Scotian operations in the Burnside district of Dartmouth. It has hired “industry veterans” Dan Jones and Matt Flynn to launch the expansion.
“Dan Jones and Matt Flynn bring a combined 30 years of experience in the construction industry, with a proven track record of developing client relationships and delivering successful projects in Atlantic Canada,” reads a press release from Acadia Construction. “Their expertise in both the public and private sectors will be essential as they lead Acadian Construction’s new venture in Nova Scotia.”
“We are excited to join the Acadian Construction team and expand the company’s interests to Nova Scotia,” Adds Dan Jones. “We look forward to building on our existing relationships in the region and developing new ones as we work to deliver successful projects for our clients.”
Acadian Construction has a varied profile of experience. It has been involved in projects ranging from retail, restaurant, office, commercial, hotel, residential, and hotel construction.
The company has managed some notable New Brunswick projects, including heritage buildings. It was the construction managers when renovations were done to the historic Higgins Block, a project worth $2.7 million.
The first floor of Higgins Block has long been filled with restaurants but the upper floors have been vacant. The renovations to the three-story building will allow future businesses to take advantage of the refreshed commercial space.
Acadian Construction has also been heavily involved in construction for the non-profit sector. They were construction managers for Hospice Moncton, a 10-bed assisted living facility. The 12,000-square-foot space had a project value worth $3.4 million.
