Celebrating Export Business Excellence In New Brunswick
New Brunswick is home to some of the most dynamic exporters in Canada. Each year, ONB recognizes the achievement of New Brunswick’s home-grown businesses exporting innovation to the world at this inspiring event.
About the Export Awards
The New Brunswick Export Awards is the province’s flagship annual event which recognizes the success and innovative approaches of New Brunswick’s export companies. The ONB-led event celebrates export companies contributing to New Brunswick’s exporting strength by achieving extraordinary results in international markets and elevating New Brunswick’s competitiveness in the global economy.
Event details
The gala event will take place in person on Thursday, June 1, at the Fredericton Convention Centre, with the reception beginning at 5:30 pm, followed by a formal dinner with local food and beverage and a much-anticipated awards ceremony. There will also be a training/learning session held on June 1 in the afternoon, prior to the gala, to provide valuable information to NB exporters (details to come).

Application details
The definition of an export consists of sales outside of the Maritime Provinces valued at $30,000 or more and companies who meet this description can apply to be considered to be awarded one of the export awards at the prestigious gala event. Companies must complete the application form in full and submit it via email by the application deadline.

Company representatives are asked to fill out the application form in as much detail as possible and reach out to your ONB Business Development or Export Development Executive should you require any support.

Award categories
Exporter of the Year (over $5M) – Recognizes companies for excellence in export – with export sales over $5 million and have demonstrated for example.: a significant increase in export sales over previous years, along with market diversification, new product development, and innovation.
Exporter of the Year (under $5M) – Recognizes companies for excellence in export – with export sales under $5 million and have demonstrated e.g.: a significant increase in export sales over previous years, along with market diversification, new product development, and innovation.
Global Diversification Award – Recognizes companies that have penetrated and/or grown new markets outside of Canada and the US (non-traditional North American markets).
Innovative Exporter of the Year (under $10M) – Recognizes companies who have successfully employed innovative marketing and sales techniques to expand their export market, any novel approaches to overcome pandemic-related barriers, new products developed specifically for the export market, and/or companies whose product/service is cutting edge in terms of innovation.
Emerging Exporter of the Year – Recognizes companies who are new to export within the past 5 years (since 2018). Criteria include the volume of export sales, level of difficulty associated with entering the market, and unique approaches taken to enter new markets.
Impact Award – **Selected separately – application for this award is not available** Recognizes companies who fall into the category of foreign direct investment.
Sustainable Exporter of the Year (New!) – **Selected separately – application for this award is not available* Recognizes companies that have leveraged sustainable practices to enable growth from an export perspective.
