Lynx Announces New Discount Flights Between Halifax And Alberta
HALIFAX—Canada’s newest discount airline has announced new flights connecting Halifax and two Alberta cities.
Lynx Air says it will start offering flights from Halifax to both Calgary and Edmonton, starting in July. The flights will connect to the Albertian cities via Toronto and Hamilton.
The airline says it will run flights between Halifax and Edmonton two times a week, and Halifax and Calgary 5 times a week. On May 10, the airline’s website was advertising one-way flights between Halifax and Calgary, and Halifax and Edmonton, for $199.
Lynx’s newly announced service between Halifax and Alberta comes a day after the airline announced expanded service out of St. John’s, Newfoundland. In March, the airline also announced flights between Halifax and two Ontario cities, starting at $59 for a one-way ticket.

Lynx is a new airline in the Canadian market and launched its first flight about a month ago. It now offers service out of 10 Canadian cities: Victoria, Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto Pearson, Hamilton, Halifax, and St. John’s.
The airline is based out of Calgary and was previously known as Enerjet, but it was rebranded in November of 2021.
Enerjet was founded in 2006 by a group of private investors that included former WestJet VP and co-founder Tim Morgan.
The company flies using Boeing 737 aircraft and says it plans to grow its fleet to more than 46 planes over the next half-decade.
