30 People Stage Protest Against Vaccination Policy At Moncton Brewpub
MONCTON – A group of about 30 individuals held a protest outside the Tide and Boar Brewpub in Moncton on Friday night.
The group asked the establishment at Main Street and Vaughan Harvey Boulevard not to follow provincially mandated regulations surrounding COVID-19 vaccines.
Since September 22, the provincial government has required proof of full vaccination when accessing certain events, services and businesses and mandatory masking in all public indoor spaces.
In a Facebook post, the owner of the pub said not following the rules could lead to fines of up to $20,400.
The owner said the protestors were not peaceful, scaring away other guests and vandalizing the property by covering parts of it with offensive posters.
“We had hoped this would be a peaceful protest when they set up camp in the front of our building, but this was not the case.”
The post goes on to say the business does not stand for or accept discrimination of any kind and is only trying to survive after a difficult two years.

The post also urges people to be respectful and protest at appropriate places.
“We have always done our best to have our guests feel as safe and comfortable as possible by closely following the advice and directives of Public Health and we hope that this encourages people to come out and support small, locally owned and family businesses who are just trying to survive, as well as their staff who are doing their best in an extremely difficult time. We are asking people please be respectful and protest at appropriate places.”
