NB365: Chad Steeves Of Tide & Boar Gastropub
This is part of a year-long ‘Love for Local’ series called NB365: portraits of New Brunswick entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations. Huddle is a media partner with Love for Local. Chad Steeves Of Tide & Boar Gastropub in Moncton says the province is diverse and a great place to raise a family.
New Brunswick is a great place to raise a family, the cultures here are very diverse and I like that. The cost of living, in general, is lower than in other parts of the country, and the Maritimes’ way of life makes everything better.
Doing business in New Brunswick is challenging like anywhere else, but it’s also rewarding and pleasant because of who we are as a province. I’m very driven and motivated by my family. They are my support system and they allow me to pursue my passions.
Whenever something piques my interest, I immediately spend a lot of them learning every aspect of the subject in order to bring it into my business. I wouldn’t be able to do that if my family wasn’t so supportive and loving.
Owning a business can sometimes take away from your personal life, which is why it’s so important to surround yourself with a team. I often remind myself that my kids will only be that age once, so it’s important for me to be there as much as I can. In some way, my business is like a child of mine, but the ones with legs and personality are the ones I’m the most proud of.
