NB365: Pam Goold Of Goold’s Flowers Ltd.
This is part of a year-long ‘Love for Local’ series called NB365: portraits of New Brunswick entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations. Huddle is a media partner with Love for Local. Today, we hear from Pam Goold Of Goold’s Flowers.
My sisters Karen, Shari and I wanted to continue the legacy of our family business. We are proud to be the fifth generation to run Goold’s Flowers, which began in 1878.
A year ago we moved back to the original location in the family home on Floral Avenue. Although we have seen many changes, one constant that we are proud to continue is providing a service to the community. We are here in happy times and sad times, working with the most beautiful products, letting flowers speak where words cannot. We have grown to understand the cycle of life and are thankful we can be a participant in people’s lives.
Supporting local keeps the area vibrant and economically sound. It gives our community a reason for being. It creates diversity and growth. It supports expansion. We have especially seen the positives of local over the past 18 months. Ideas have grown into new business ventures, adding new interest to the area. New ideas, new jobs, new people. Supporting local has given our shop the ability to not only remain open but grow.
