‘Virtual’ Advisers Can Help N.B. Businesses Manage Challenges Of Covid-19
FREDERICTON – A new program spearheaded by the NB Association of the Community Business Development Corporations (CBDCs) will virtually match business owners with a seasoned business advisor to help them through the challenges brought on by the Covid-19 crisis.
Powered by on-demand talent platform BoomersPlus, the new free Virtual Advisor program will match qualified companies with a virtual adviser to help their business manage and recover from Covid-19.
The advisers are experienced professionals from across Canada representing a full range of disciplines, industries and environments, willing to share their lessons learned.
“We need to support our local businesses now more than ever and being able to connect them to the talent and experience of Virtual Advisers from across the country is really exciting,” said Line Doiron, executive director of NB Associations of CBDCs, in a news release. “Our hope that these connections will result in effective, tangible solutions to help our businesses move forward successfully.”
Businesses can apply for the program online. If accepted, businesses will be matched with a Virtual Adviser from a network of thousands of seasoned professionals based on the business need or challenge.
On a mutually agreed schedule, the businesses will meet with their adviser to discuss the challenges and find potential solutions. Participants will have access to four to six calls over a two to three-month period, with the potential for an extension.
“The [program] is a natural evolution of our mandate – to help organizations and communities leverage the wisdom and experience of seasoned professionals,” said Kevin MacIntyre, vice-president of marketing for BoomersPlus. “We are excited to partner with the New Brunswick Association of CBDCs to help small businesses struggling through the challenging economic environment created by the COVID-19 crisis.”
