New Batch Of Chicken Bones Liqueur Sells Out Across The Province
ST. STEPHEN – The second run of Chicken Bones Liqueur was sold out across the province an hour after it hit ANBL store shelves on Tuesday. In the hometown of Ganong Bros., nearly 100 people were lined up outside the liquor store before it opened at 10 a.m. and its supply was sold out in 13 minutes, according to 98.1 Charlotte FM.
In late November, Waterville distillery Moonshine Creek released its Chicken Bones Liqueur, a limited-time beverage created in partnership with Ganong. Chicken Bones, a family favourite and holiday tradition since 1885, is a hand-crafted spicy cinnamon-infused hard candy with a chocolate centre.
Jeremiah Clark, president of Moonshine Creek, said the original plan was to make around 2,500 bottles for this Christmas. Because of the demand, Ganong Brothers Limited agreed to increase the production of its traditional holiday treat to help produce more liqueur.
“Ganong Bros has agreed to make more chicken bones, just for us to make more of this liqueur,” said Clark in late November. “They started up their production line again, just for us.”
Chicken Bones Liqueur flew off of store shelves in mid-November, with lineups outside of NB Liquor locations last week as the trucks arrived to drop off stock.
The second run met with the same success – could a third batch be in the works?
“WOW! We sold out online within 5 minutes and across the province within the hour! We will update everyone if or when we have more available,” the company posted on its Facebook page Tuesday.
