What Itavio’s Melani Flanagan is Loving Today

In this series we ask members of New Brunswick’s business community to share the things they’re loving these days.
This week we asked Melani Flanigan, Co-founder and CEO of Itavio.
“In a world where you’re constantly on the go, a notebook and a cup of coffee can be your best friend. They’re definitely mine.
Coffee is clearly the fuel (take my coffee over my dead body) but the notebook is an amazingly perfect piece of technology. It requires no batteries, it can’t blink or wink or whistle or buzz when you’re writing something out mid-thought. You don’t have to reset constantly because you can’t be interrupted. You just write.
A notebook offers the ability to do more with less. It affords me the ability to practice the art of sitting quietly in contemplation, to strategize, digest and synthesize what I’ve learned and what I’ve got to do next. It’s a mindful decision to sit without a device in hand.
It also works in New York City’s underground, no disruption of service. Ever.
In other words, get a notebook. And the coffee won’t hurt either.”
