“Fuel The Care” Helps Local Families
SAINT JOHN—Tomorrow Irving Oil will donate $1 for every fill-up at its gas stations to help families with the cost of travelling for medical treatment. It’s part of the company’s Fuel the Care program which has helped over 50,000 families since 2002.
Fuel the Care provides fuel gift cards to parents who are travelling to hospitals to get medical treatment for their children. The program operates at the Saint John Regional Hospital and the IWK Hospital in Halifax, as well as hospitals in St. John’s, Quebec City, and Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
Hundreds of Irving Oil employees will be volunteering to pump gas and wash windshield as part of what it’s calling “Fuel the Care Day.”
“Fuel the Care helps families focus on what’s important and we’re thankful to play a role in keeping families together when it matters most,” said Irving Oil spokesperson Samantha Robinson. “With the help of our customers, we hope to raise tens of thousands of dollars for each one of our partner hospitals, helping local families across Quebec, Atlantic Canada and New England.”
