The company’s products will be sold at approximately 30 CANEX stores across the country and 14 duty-free locations including the Toronto airport and the Peace Bridge near Niagara Falls.
The market will feature up to 150 booths each week from now until September 5. It includes local and imported handmade products, arts and crafts, clothing, locally grown products, a tasting room, food, and live entertainment that changes each week.
The participating employers come from various sectors of the economy, including information technology, customer contact centres, forestry, energy, social development and food services.
The region finished fourth amongst communities in the “activation phase,” a category for startup ecosystems that are relatively young and small. The widely-read global report is based on data from over one million companies across 150 cities.
Phase 2 of the startup accelerator’s Incite program focuses on revenue generation. “We’re looking for companies who have fine-tuned their problem/solution fit and are now looking to build a sales engine,” says CEO Barry Bisson.
