Granite Centre Welcomes New Businesses, Plans to Add New Plaza
MONCTON – The quickly developing Granite Centre, just off Elmwood Drive in Moncton, has welcomed several new businesses over the past month. Trevor MacLeod, president of The Gray Group, which overlooks the Granite Centre, says the developers behind the project are working to create even more spaces for new businesses.
The most recent businesses that have opened their doors at the Granite Centre are Boustan, Subway, and Harvest Clean Eats. MacLeod says the Granite Centre is working on bringing in new markets that people may not find in the area.
“We’re looking at trying to establish a great mix that has all kinds of different offerings, whether it’s professional services, whether it’s retail, whether it’s grocery — really the sky is the limit with respect to who we can go in there,” he says.

MacLeod says there are still some spaces available for lease but that they are mostly filled up as of right now. However, they are working on developing even more plazas to welcome even more businesses.
This new plaza will aim to service some smaller businesses that may not need or want as much space. MacLeod says that it will resemble plaza five that houses Simply for Life, and will be a 14,400-square-foot strip mall.
“We’re hoping to start [building] sometime in the next couple months for that, with the intention of having it weathertight by late fall,” MacLeod tells Huddle.

Along with this, they have plans to continue building even more strip malls as things continue to progress, which can be seen on their website. Being located next to the Costco in Moncton, MacLeod says that they are seeing great traffic come through the area every day.
With many more things to come for the Granite Centre, it is a place to keep an eye out for when in Moncton.
