New Eatery to Open Soon in Florenceville-Bristol
FLORENCEVILLE-BRISTOL – Buttermilk Creek Eatery will soon be opening in Florenceville-Bristol, at 8764 Main Street. Monica Cardoso, the eatery’s owner, says she is excited to welcome everyone into the space.
Cardoso says she and her husband decided to open Buttermilk Creek Eatery after moving to Florenceville-Bristol from Ontario, and not seeing anything else like it. They wanted somewhere to go out and sit that wasn’t a fast-food joint, and since there were very limited options in the small town, they decided to create that space themselves.
Buttermilk Creek will be an eatery where you won’t always know what you’re going to find. Cardoso says there will be a steady Monday-to-Friday menu but there will also be a variety of items that will be available only for the day of, giving a sense of something new every time you go.
“[The menu will be] anything from Caribbean food to Italian food, just basically a smorgasbord of variety, really,” Cardoso tells Huddle.
The Buttermilk Creek Eatery specialty will be mostly bakery items. Having loved baking since high school, Cardoso says that she will specialize specifically in artisan croissants, breads, pastries, and more.
“[There will be] everything from butter croissants to pain-du-chocolate, basically whatever I feel I want to do I’m going to do,” says Cardoso.
Cardoso says she wants her items to be affordable for everybody; she wants everyone to not only enjoy the food but receive good quantities for the price they pay.
Everything that will be available at Buttermilk Creek Eatery will be made fresh daily by Cardoso herself and future staff. She says that all items will be made from scratch with local ingredients.
“I want to try and, you know, utilize the fresh stuff around us and help out the small business owners as well,” says Cardoso.
Cardoso wants to have Buttermilk Creek Eatery be a welcoming place for not only adults, but also for the younger generations of the community. Having a school-aged child, she noticed that there wasn’t a lot of places around town for kids to hang out.
“It’s a small place but I’d like to have some events for the kids, or even just a nice hang out spot,” she says.
Although the opening date is not yet set in stone, Cardoso says that they are aiming to be open by mid to late June. Currently, the space is still under construction with renovations and setting everything up.
With the opening date fast approaching, Cardoso is excited to open the doors of Buttermilk Creek Eatery to the public and welcome everyone into the new space.
