XITE Cycle Club Opens Its Doors
BATHURST – XITE Cycle Club opened for business on May 20th in Beresford. Martine Richard, co-owner of XITE Cycle Club, says that she and the rest of the coaches are beyond excited to welcome everyone in.
XITE Cycle Club is a rhythm based, indoor cycling studio that aims to introduce people to new aspects of exercise. Regardless on if you exercise regularly, or if this is something new to you, XITE Cycle Club is designed for everyone.
Richard says that XITE Cycle Club is meant to help people discover the act of cycling, having a variety of different classes, with each one being adaptable to each person’s skill level. During opening, there will be introductory classes called “Spin 101” to help introduce indoor cycling to new individuals.
“There’s different types of classes,” Richard tells Huddle. “All of them are adaptable and modifiable to any level of physical conditioning really.”
Richard says that she was inspired to open XITE Cycle Club with co-owner, Myriam Duguay, due to her personal experiences in the past. She has seen amazing personal impacts from cycling and wanted to help others discover those as well.
“I’ve always been an athletic person, I’ve always loved fitness, but this has taken it to a next level where it brings out confidence in people and it really lets people out of their shell,” says Richard.
She says that she wants to create a community that helps people reach their personal goals and desires to be their best selves in every aspect of their lives. She wants to help others achieve new heights and confidence through something in which she is very passionate about.
“When we talk about an athlete’s mindset, it’s basically always pushing to better yourself and grow yourself mentally, physically, or emotionally. When I say athlete, I’m not speaking to any type of physical talent or aptitude,” says Richard.
On Saturday May 20th, XITE Cycle Club opened their doors to the public at 975 Rue Principale in Beresford. With classes booking up and being wait-listed in advance, the grand opening was a great hit.
Over the course of the day, there was giveaways, activities, and hangouts within the studio. With the help of the community, family, friends, and other local businesses in the area, the event was the place to be this past weekend.
Currently, Richard says that there are roughly 15 coaches that teach at XITE Cycle Club. Each coach has training, experience, and a great passion for cycling, and aims to create an exciting atmosphere within their classes.
Although there are a number of indoor cycling clubs around the community, Richard says that XITE Cycle Club differs from others through its growth mindset.
“We have different growth initiatives for our coaches [than other studios],” she says. “We kind of have the idea that if you’re not growing, you’re falling behind.”
Richard encourages the XITE Cycle Club coaches to go out and visit other studios when traveling, which XITE Cycle Club helps pay admission for. Along with this, she says that the studio is subscribed to an app called Army, an indoor cycling program in which she is personally inspired by. This allows the coaches to continue growing and achieving their personal goals.
