The Fredericton Women’s Show Makes Its Return
FREDERICTON – At the end of May, Fredericton will once again become home to the Fredericton Women’s Show after years of inactivity since its last event. Alicia Nicholson, event organizer, is excited to welcome everybody with the relaunch of Fredericton Women’s Show.
Pre-COVID, the Fredericton Women’s Show was an annual event that aimed to bring women together for a day of pampering at the Exhibition Centre. However, once COVID had hit, the event was put on the back burner.
For Nicholson, 2023 will be her first year as event organizer of the Fredericton Women’s Show. Nicholson was a vendor before, with her business Upfront Cosmetics. After the previous event organizer moved to Vancouver, Nicholson was influenced to take it over.
“We’d seen quite a large amount of people who really wanted [the Fredericton Women’s Show] to come back, and I had the time to be able to do it,” Nicholson tells Huddle.
This year, Fredericton Women’s Day will be hosted at the Fredericton Convention Centre on May 27th and 28th. Showcasing a wide variety of trade-based and product-based vendors, it will be “the ultimate girl’s day out”.
“It used to happen at the Exhibition Centre, and we decided to move it to the Convention Centre this year just to have a more girls’ day out, pampering feel to it” says Nicholson.
Nicholson says that the Fredericton Women’s Show is a type of trade show that aims to make the attendees feel pampered and relaxed by the end of the day. Some of the vendors at the event will be Honey Pot Shop, Little Panda Paws, Molly Maid, and more.
Along with the vendors, there will also be a variety of presentations from people around the community, including a free group session from psychic medium Michell Russell.
When asked about any changes that were made to the event after taking over as event organizer, Nicholson says that the event will stay true to the Fredericton Women’s Show that people have come to love, with the only change being the venue location.
“That was really what we heard from the vendors, that they wanted a venue that had a more pampering feel to it,” she says.
With the weekend of the Fredericton Women’s Day fast approaching, Nicholson says that she is excited to see all those who come and join in the relaxing and stress-free event of pampering.
