Fredericton’s Thermtest Announces New Product
FREDERICTON – Fredericton’s Thermtest has announced the development of a new product to its line of thermal instruments. The Portable Thermal Chamber aims to create a non-destructive, in-situ, and eco-friendly method of measuring the thermal performance of low-slope roofs.
Since 2005, Thermtest has been providing people with a variety of thermal conductivity equipment. Some of its customers include Shell, 3M, and NASA.
Having consistently advanced over the years in the field of thermal conductivity measurement, Thermtest prides themselves in their customer satisfaction level.

In a recent press release, Thermtest announced that have been working on a new product. The Portable Thermal Chamber will introduce a new way to measure the thermal performance of low-slope roofs
As stated in the press release, the current methods used to measure the thermal performance of a roof require either removing a piece of the roof to send to a laboratory for testing, or relying on theoretical estimates. The Portable Thermal Chamber will introduce a new, non-destructive method of heat loss measurement.
In an email to Huddle, Emma Blizzard says that this new product “has the potential to have a profound impact on the environment and the global roofing and insulation markets”.
By introducing a non-destructive method of testing the thermal performance of low-slope roofs, this will allow people to identify areas of heat and energy loss. Thermtest hopes that this will then lead to a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
On March 30, 2023, Thermtest was present BuildGreen Atlantic in Halifax for the first public appearance of the Portable Thermal Chamber, and expects to have their official launch of the product in early 2024.
