Off The Wall Gives Love to Other Local Businesses
MONCTON – The co-owners of Off the Wall Eyewear Emporium, Jennifer Johnston and Steve Charlebois, are using their local business to support others this month.
Off the Wall opened in 2017 and has become well-known in the local community. Since then, the company has seen success and now has locations in both Fredericton and Moncton.
When asked what their inspiration for opening was, Charlebois told Huddle that he had always wanted to open his own store. After being in the optometry industry for over 30 years, he is finally fulfilling this dream.
“We started off at a small store on Elmwood Drive, and I ended up putting my career on hold [to help the business]” says Johnston. “And I haven’t been able to return back to my career because it’s just been so busy since.”
Throughout the month of March, Off the Wall will host a promotion to help support other local businesses in both Moncton and Fredericton.
Johnston says that with many big companies coming in, she wants to help the smaller ones as much as she can.
The two tell Huddle that with the purchase of any eyewear, they will be giving away gift cards for certain local businesses that they have co-partnered with. Some of these include the Candy Depot in both Moncton and Fredericton, Halo Donuts in Moncton, and Mezza Lebanese Kitchen in Fredericton.
“We did this last February just right after the [Covid-19] lockdown” Johnston tells Huddle. “We wanted to make sure that our community of small business was still going to survive and be okay.”
After seeing a great success in the promotion last year, Off the Wall Eyewear Emporium is excited to bring it back for another month.
