New Chair of Port Saint John Board
SAINT JOHN – Port Saint John has named Jack Keir its new board chair.
In a March 2 announcement, Port Saint John reported that Keir has been elected board chair at a recent meeting of the port authority’s board of directors. Keir will serve for two years and will be eligible for reelection at the end of that term.
Keir, a member of the board of directors since 2019, served as provincial energy minister from 2006-2010 and MLA for Fundy-River Valley.
“I am excited to accept the role of the Chair of the Board of Directors as Port Saint John continues its significant growth,” said Keir in the announcement.
“As one of the fastest-growing ports in the eastern seaboard, our board will focus on the opportunities to support our staff and private sector partners.”
Keir holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary’s University and is president of Keir Consulting Inc.
Other feathers in his professional had include director of issues management with the Office of the Premier, and executive director of the Regional Services Commission.
Keir has also served in an executive capacity for the Saint John Harbour Bridge Authority and the Fundy Region Solid Waste Commission.
Keir, a founding chair of the Regional Facilities Commission, has worked with several boards, including the Enterprise Saint John and LivingSJ.
