Saint John Bakery Pauses Operations
SAINT JOHN — A popular Saint John bakery has closed its four locations until further notice.
Saint John Bakery announced Sunday on social media that it is taking an “operational pause.” Owner Stuart Howe said the pause will give him time to sort out the bakery’s operations.
Howe said labour shortages combined with increasing costs have hit his business “very, very hard.”
“I want to thank each and everyone of you who has supported us, especially over the last couple of very, very challenging years,” said Howe’s post.
“We will update you here shortly with a decision.”
Saint John Bakery has three locations in Saint John, including one at the City Market, and operates the Village Square Bakery in Grand Bay-Westfield.
