New VP At Halifax Port Authority
HALIFAX – The Halifax Port Authority has named Sara Colburne its new vice-president of strategy and transformation.
In her new role, Colburne will take the lead on government and stakeholder relations, as well as communications and marketing. She will also be responsible for strategy development “transformational change management.”
Before taking on the role, Colburne most recently worked as the managing director at Engage Nova Scotia. Engage Nova Scotia is a not-for-profit created by the provincial government and other stakeholders to “consider how our province could do better.” This year, the organization released the results of a major project: a comprehensive “Quality of Life Survey” that gathered data from 12,000 Nova Scotians.
Colburne also chaired the Port Community Liaison Committee, where she was “instrumental in fostering meaningful communication between the Halifax Port Authority and broader community,” according to a news release from the Port.
She also serves as chair of Alice House board of directors and volunteers by providing mentorship to young professionals.
“I have had the opportunity to work alongside Sara Colburne through her role as the independent chair of the Port Community Liaison Committee and I am thrilled that she is joining,” said Captain Allan Gray, the president and CEO of the Halifax Port Authority. “She brings with her tremendous knowledge and experience, and she is already familiar with our business, and our strategic goals and objectives.”
