Aaron’s Coffee House To Open At Greater Moncton Airport
MONCTON–The smell of brewing coffee will soon be in the air again at the Greater Moncton Romero Leblanc International Airport.
As a part of a pilot project, Aaron’s Coffee House will open this month. Co-owner Aaron Nielson says they’ll offer just a few items.
“To get started, we are just going to have our drip coffee and some snack goods, and stuff that is easy to grab and go. We are going to start basically like that. Then as we get more familiar, we will start adding products.”
The original location for the coffee shop was in Salisbury. It opened in 2020, as a tribute to his son. It closed two weeks ago, in preparation for this new location.
“We realised that 80 to 85 percent of our customers were from outside of Salisbury and we had this new opportunity,” Neilson says.
“There will be much more foot traffic at the airport. It is going to be a very different environment for us, a lot busier, but we are looking forward to the challenge,” Neilson’s wife and coffee shop co-owner Shaunta Nielson says.
Aaron’s goal is to expand and eventually have a life skills centre, with the hope this new location and coffee shop will take them to that dream much faster.
The new shop, to start will just have two employees, Aaron and his wife Shaunta. The hope is to eventually hire two the three more people, once the coffee shop is established.
It will be located on the second floor of the airport.
Aaron doesn’t have a set date for the opening just yet, but the hope if by next week, they’ll be serving their java to travellers.
The Tim Horton’s that was located at the airport has never reopened after its closure due to the pandemic.
