A New Landing Spot For Bikers And Coffee Lovers On Fredericton’s Northside
FREDERICTON– The Landing, the new home of Radical Edge and a Mill Town Roasters outlet, opened its doors to the public last week.
Brian McKeown, The Landing’s general manager and co-owner, said the soft opening brought fans of the coffee company and bike shop to see the new location and the renovations to the historic building.
“It was pretty crazy, to say the least. I think we had our first customer at [just after seven] in the morning … and we hadn’t put anything on social media at that point,” said McKeown.
“People seem to be super happy that we’re here … and we’re happy we’re here.”
By the end of the day, around 400 to 500 people had come through the door, said McKeown.
He said while they might do a grand opening once everything is complete, it’s not something the location is planning right now.
“Neither one of the businesses, Radical Edge or Mill Town, are big ‘grand opening’ people,” said McKeown. “Maybe we’ll just quietly improve along the way.”

There is still some work to finish on the building, but the location is ready to open and serve customers seven days a week.
“We certainly realize and hopefully most people know when they see the location [that] the outside is not quite finished. Our patio is not complete because just like anything with COVID, we’ve got some delays.”
Since the building is near popular multi-use trail access on the city’s northside, McKeown hopes as it’s a cycle café, people will stop by to grab a coffee and snack before, during, or after their bike ride. In the evening they’ll serve craft beer and other drinks.
“I’ve been a Northsider my entire life and I’m happy now to be able to work on the Northside and provide a service that people seem to want.”
