Halifax Financial Advisors Want To Read You To Sleep
HALIFAX–If you’re a work-a-day Canadian, there’s a good chance inflation and general financial struggles are adding stress to your life.
A study conducted earlier this month shows that nearly 40 percent of Canadians say money (or lack of it) is their biggest source of stress. More than two-thirds of people who are worried about finances say inflation on food is their leading cause of concern.
Money ranked higher than any other stress category in the survey–even higher than personal health. With Canadians feeling so worked up over money problems, the folks at CI Assante Wealth Management in Halifax know it’s keeping them up at night.
We all know the feeling of tossing and turning in our beds when something is weighing heavy on our minds. Being financial advisors, Assante Hydrostone wanted to get the message across that they can relieve that worry and allow you to sleep well.
So, what better way to get this message across than to have these advisors literally help you sleep? Last week, the company launched assantebedtimestories.com, where financial advisors and other staff read you nine classic tales, such as Sleeping Beauty, Little Red Riding Hood, and Winnie The Pooh.
“Financial stress is one of the key themes behind keeping people up at night,” said Coleena Raynor, the marketing coordinator for Assante. “We wanted to put ourselves out there as helping with that stress. We can take that part off your plate and can help you sleep better.”
“We wanted to keep it classic and, of course, with the right length of time. With bedtime stories, you don’t want people reading novels. We’re definitely not audiobook readers.”
Assante didn’t get professional voice actors for the project. Reading bedtime stories may sound outside the wheelhouse for financial advisors but when Raynor put out the call to employees, there were no shortage of hands raised.
The nine bedtime stories is part of Assante’s larger Sleep Well campaign. It’s something the company has been doing for months now.
“Earlier this year we launched a whole campaign based around the whole concept of sleep well. It included online video ads that reached people late at night. We created a Spotify playlist for clients with lullaby renditions of money-related songs,” recalls Raynor.
“For the final extension, we thought bedtime stories were a great way to sum up the campaign; and show how our team goes the extra mile.”
The best part of this new service is anyone can access it free of charge, regardless of why you can’t sleep at night. So if a reading of the Canadian classic Winnie The Pooh will help you forget about inflation and the cost of food, get your earphones ready.
