Euston Park Social To Return To Shediac For Summer Beer Garden
SHEDIAC–Shediac and the surrounding communities are shaping up to be a mecca for people looking to relax at the beach and refresh with a beer in hand, after another beer garden opens in the community.
Euston Park Social announced its plans to open a beer garden for the summer at Parlee Beach, starting June 3.
This summer’s beer garden will be Euston Park’s fourth at Parlee Beach, at the restaurant known as the West Canteen, at 221 Parlee Beach Rd.
Euston Park Social is one of two seasonal beer gardens opening in the Shediac area this summer. Its announcement comes on the heels of Gahan House’s plans to open a beer garden of its own, on June 8, just down the road, at Captain Dan’s Bar and Grill at the Pointe-du-Chêne wharf.
Euston Park Social co-owner Gene Cormier said they aren’t concerned with the competition, noting that with pandemic health safety restrictions over, and people eager to get out after a long winter, they anticipate plenty of people visiting the Shediac area this summer.
“I think it’s great for overall growth in Shediac to have players coming here and doing the same nice kind of operation, for food and beverage services,” he said. “They need more services and great things to keep people coming back and trying to do different things.”

This is not Euston Park Social’s first beer garden. Cormier noted they have done beer gardens at Parlee Beach for the last few years, offering food, drinks, and music.
Euston Park Social also has a location in downtown Moncton, at 5 Euston St., that each year opens a few weeks earlier than its Parlee beach location.
The beer garden will be run by a staff of 25–a little more than half of the 40 people Cormier recruited to staff their beer gardens for the season.
“Last year was a big renovation, in terms of the setup and the patio and all that. We’re amplifying that this year with some great contributors and collaborators for a music series that’s going to happen at the beach,” he said, referring to a series of concerts featuring 50 artists set to take place on the second floor of Euston Park’ restaurant location, from June 10 to Sept. 3.
Cormier said the beer garden is a great opportunity for participating artists to bounce back from the pandemic restrictions over the past couple of years that have prevented them from performing,
“As the pandemic went on, a lot of our artists and musicians have not had the opportunity to perform. We have an opportunity to have a space where we can host music and try to bring to Parlee Beach a different mindset–of having other activities and services we can offer there, so everyone can have a great time,” said Cormier.

“We had a great turnout last year, with a lot of people wanting to come out to the beach to relax. The parking lots were full there with local people and tourists visiting. We expect to see more smiling faces and great conversations with our guests this year.”
Euston Park Social focuses on locally sourced food and local brews, with plans to offer refreshments from several New Brunswick breweries, including Picaroons, CAVOK Brewing, Flying Boats Brewing, and Pump House Brewery.
“We’ve been so blessed with our micro-brewing industry,” he said.
Cormier and his wife (and Euston Park co-owner) Susan Cormier also co-own of Halo Donuts with Jacques Allain. Cormier said that after years of work in the hospitality industry in several major cities, including Doha, New York City, Shanghai, and Singapore, he and his wife moved back to the Moncton area to have a family and build on the hospitality opportunities they saw in the region.
