Major Waterfront Properties For Sale In Lunenburg Might Mean Redevelopment
Lunenburg–Colliers International has announced two major industrial properties are for sale in Lunenburg.
The commercial real estate agency says it is now accepting offers for the two properties, which are being packaged together. The firm is calling it a “rare opportunity” to buy mixed-use properties and water lots in Lunenburg.
The first property is along the eastern portion of the main downtown waterfront, referred to as the Lunenburg Shipyard. It includes 13 parcels of land, many of which contain marine industrial infrastructure, including two marine railroads.
The second property is located near the innermost part of the town’s western harbour. It includes 14 parcels of land, some of which include marine industrial infrastructure in addition to some vacant land.
The listing from Colliers indicates the second property has potential for multi-residential and commercial redevelopment, or continued use as a working waterfront property.
Both properties are currently zoned entirely as Marine Industrial, meaning any developers looking to use the properties for residential use would need to get approval from the local town council.
In total, the listing includes 590,000 square feet over 27 lots on the iconic Lunenburg waterfront.
Although the listing has the properties packaged together, Colliers has said it will accept offers for portions of the listing on a case-by-case basis.
Colliers is now accepting applications from interested parties, who will be able to review private documents if they agree to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
