Moosehead Breweries Becomes Foundational Supporter of L’Arche Saint John
SAINT JOHN–Moosehead Breweries has donated $10,000 to the non-profit L’Arche Saint John’s Brighter Futures Fund, which helps meet the critical needs of adults with intellectual disabilities in the Saint John region.
In a press release, L’Arche Saint John executive director Zoël Breau says the organization couldn’t be more thrilled to receive such a generous gift from Moosehead.
“Moosehead is such an iconic, community-minded company – we’re proud to call them a partner as we look to grow our inclusive housing options and day programs and for adults with intellectual disabilities,” said Breau.
L’Arche Saint John partnered with the Greater Saint John Community Foundation to create the Brighter Futures Fund last September, which allows anyone to donate any amount in support of L’Arche Saint John.
Donations to the fund are used to grow the endowment and its annual income earned helps the non-profit sustain its operations and fuel the critical need to expand its services for adults with intellectual disabilities.
“As a community, we need to ensure adults with intellectual disabilities can live and thrive in a safe and supportive environment,” said Moosehead CEO Andrew Oland. “Moosehead is proud to be making this important investment to support the growth of L’Arche in Saint John.”
Other foundational supporters of the Brighter Futures Fund include the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception and Frank McKenna, the former premier of New Brunswick.
