Moncton Coliseum Prepares For Influx Of Trade Shows
MONCTON–Activity at the Moncton Coliseum has been anything but ordinary over the last two years–that’s expected to change as trade shows return in full force.
Covid-19 and the constantly evolving restrictions required to combat it meant Shane Porter and his team had to spend extra time working with show organizers and, as a result, cancel some events.
However, with restrictions being lifted next week, Moncton’s manager of venues is excited about shows in 2022.
“We’ve been active, but we’re getting back into our normal business and our normal flow now,” said Porter. “We’re excited to be back and doing what we primarily do at the coliseum.”
Porter said a typical season kicks off in January, though New Brunswick’s winter plan put a damper on events. Now, Porter is preparing for busy months ahead with what he hopes can turn out to be a “decent season” after all.
The Moncton Coliseum is expected to host several major trade shows over the coming months.
Starting March 10, it will host the Moncton RV Show, which marks the first consumer trade show in Atlantic Canada in two years. The four-day event showcases over 100 units from dealers in the region.
It will be a nice change from other events held at the Coliseum in recent months.
Redefining what it means to be multipurpose, the facility hosted a Covid-19 vaccination clinic and testing centre for several months.
Porter said while they were happy they could adapt the building and stay busy, it’s exciting to get back to business.
