Southeastern N.B. Companies Look To Cheer People Up
SAINT JOHN–Three businesses in Scoudouc have come together in an effort to offer encouragement during these difficult times.
Tyson Milner, president of Pallet Depot, Modu-Loc, and Milco Enterprises, says a card from their ‘Encourage’ campaign can go a long way.
“Bring a little bit of sunshine into people’s lives because I think that we sometimes forget that other people struggle, and even though we’re all struggling a bit, some are struggling more than others and it’s just sort of a way to let people know that somebody’s thinking of them,” said Milner.
Anyone can submit a name and address, and an Encourage card will be sent out, said Milner.
The message inside the card reads, “Someone who thinks very highly of you wanted us to send you this ray of sunshine to brighten your day!”
Since the Encourage campaign launched on Feb. 28, more than 50 cards have already been sent out.
“Friends or relatives, somebody you met in a grocery store or a nurse that was great in the hospital, or somebody that just needs some encouragement. We got a couple of names from people of Ukrainian descent,” said Milner.
Cards can be forwarded anywhere in Canada, with the campaign running until June 30.
Each month during the campaign, three Encourage campaign recipients will win a gift card redeemable at a local business. Only residents of Southeastern New Brunswick are eligible for the gift card draws because these come from local companies.
Requests for cards may be sent via email to [email protected].
