Clothing Boutique Relocating To New Telegraph Square Building In Saint John
SAINT JOHN–It’s been a fixture of King Street in Saint John for five years and now it’s moving, but just around the corner.
Clothing boutique Lordon is relocating into the new Telegraph Square building on Canterbury Street.
Owner Kate Thompson said it’s a new build, adding she is looking forward to being in a new, larger space.
“We get to help with pretty much everything, the lighting and where everything is going to go. I’m excited to potentially have more visibility as well,” Thompson said.
Thompson says she is hoping to be open by late February or early March.
Lordon will occupy one of the retail spaces in the Telegraph Square building on Canterbury Street. Thompson said the new space offers more room, along with visibility being across the street from Picaroon’s, Pomodori Pizza, and Paddington Station.
She said she is currently trying to sell off a lot of the inventory in preparation for the move.
“Some of our fixtures, display items, and most of our clothing is heavily discounted. We want to move with the least amount of things that we can,” Thompson said.
While supply chain issues have not been a major problem, Thompson says reordering customer favourites is a challenge.
“If you see something you like it, buy it right away, generally the stores are not able to bring it back in. That’s a problem we’ve been seeing,” Thompson said.
There are no plans to hire additional staff at this point, she said.
Lordon opened a second location on Mountain Road in Moncton in November.
