New Construction Record Set In Dieppe In 2021
DIEPPE–The City of Dieppe set a record for new construction in 2021.
Last year, 639 building permits were issued, worth almost $102-million. That broke the old record from 2019, which was $97-million.
Compared to 2020, Mayor Yvon Lapierre says the city saw a marked upturn in commercial and industrial projects, as well as with residential construction.
Director of planning and development André Frenette says the building of single-family homes and duplexes increased and the number of new townhouses doubled.
Frenette adds the number of subdivisions approved and lots created suggests that growth will continue.
Meanwhile, officials say expansion projects are also underway along Aviation Avenue near the airport and the business park along Dieppe Boulevard.
