Podcast: CTV’s Steve Murphy On The Most Significant Atlantic Canadian Premiers Of The Last 40 Years
In part two of their conversation with longtime CTV Atlantic broadcaster Steve Murphy, Don and David chat with Steve about his favourite interview in 45 years of broadcasting. Steve also shares his thoughts on the most significant Atlantic Canadian premiers in the last four decades.
He admires the premiers who had a vision and executed it to the best of their abilities. That list includes New Brunswick premiers Louis Robichaud and Richard Hatfield, and Joe Ghiz from P.E.I. He mentions Frank McKenna of New Brunswick, in particular, for his vision and ambition during his 10 years in office.
“We need more big dreamers,” says Murphy. “We need more people willing to dream the big dream. I think McKenna was a big dreamer and did a fair amount of delivering, and as a private citizen, he continues to do that.”
