NB365: Annick Robichaud Butland Of ABConnect Travel And Tourism Services In Hillsborough
This is part of a year-long ‘Love for Local’ series called NB365: portraits of New Brunswick entrepreneurs, businesses, and organizations. Huddle is a media partner with Love for Local. Today we feature Annick Robichaud Butland of ABConnect Travel And Tourism Services, in Hillsborough.
I have been blessed to work in tourism for a few years with a growing career. I saw that there were gaps in rural regions throughout New Brunswick for small and medium businesses to promote internationally. By working with the travel trade as a receptive liaison, it allows local businesses to work with me at their level, and I package them and provide the tour operators with what they require (direct online booking, payment vouchers, etc.)
Another area of growth was offering tourism experiences and products in various, especially rural regions year-round! This would build employment, bring additional revenue and enhance visibility.
Whether it be at my physical office and store location, where I sell and promote local products, or by selling local experiences, restaurants, accommodations, and more, I continuously support New Brunswick businesses.
I am also the president of our local Chamber of Commerce where our Buy Local committee works diligently to ensure that our local businesses are well represented and supported. Our clients are looking for more local products, they want to have a positive impact on communities they explore as they travel to Atlantic Canada.
