Flair Airlines To Suspend Saint John Service In Early 2022
SAINT JOHN – One of Saint John Airport’s newest carriers will take a short hiatus in the new year.
Flair Airlines will not offer service during January and February.
Jacques Fournier, Director of Commercial Development at the Saint John Airport, said Flair did really well for them during the summer and fall.
“January and February are always tough months in the industry not just in Saint John and with the fourth wave and the lower demand in January and February for direct [flights] to Toronto on Flair. Flair decided to remove their service for those two months,” Fournier said.
Over the summer, Flair flights were operating at 95 percent load factor which means a lot of their rotation left full, which Fournier calls “really, really good.”
“The price point is excellent, the service is excellent…the flight time is good into Toronto and back,” Fournier said.
Saint John is one of the top five origins and destinations throughout the Flair system in Canada.
“Which is why they are looking to come back strong in 2022 starting in March so we’re really happy about that,” Fournier.
Fournier said it’s hoped the Flair Airlines service will return to Saint John by the March break.
When the carrier returns, it will offer three weekly trips to Toronto.
