Swoop Announces Flights To Edmonton From Moncton, Halifax.
MONCTON–Swoop Airlines will be flying into the Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport (YQM) next summer.
The discount carrier has announced plans for a new non-stop connection between Moncton and Edmonton, Alberta.
From June 17 until September 12th, 2022, Swoop will offer two non-stop flights per week using a 737 aircraft with a seating capacity of 189 passengers.
As part of expanded service from Edmonton, the airline will also offer flights to Halifax and Charlottetown, as well as several other cities.
Swoop planes will fly between Moncton and Edmonton twice a week, and between Halifax and Edmonton five times a week. Halifax flights will begin May 1.
‘‘Our team is very excited to see Swoop launch this unique and new route from YQM,” said Bernard LeBlanc, CEO of YQM.
“Although the pandemic had forced a delay to Swoop’s planned June 2020 launch from YQM, we now see this announcement as one of hopefully many to come for our airport and our region.
The low-cost carrier model is new for Canada and we are excited to participate in such an effort which will allow for more friends and families to reunite, and for business people and mobile workers alike to benefit from the convenience of a shorter travel time through a non-stop connection to western Canada,’’ added LeBlanc.
Bookings for travel on this new service from YQM can be made at www.flyswoop.com. Swoop is a subsidiary of Westjet Airlines.
