Ren’s Pets Opens 4th East Coast Store in Fredericton
FREDERICTON— After two years of looking for the perfect location for their fourth store on the East Coast, an Ontario-based pet store has opened in Fredericton.
Ren’s Pets opened on Saturday, July 24th.
“We’ve had a great customer response to the Ren’s brand in the Maritimes with our Dieppe, Bayer’s Lake, and Dartmouth stores, so we’re thrilled to go into Fredericton next,” said Scott Arsenault, president at Ren’s Pets in a press release last month.
Larissa Wasyliw, vice president of marketing at Ren’s Pets said in an interview this week that all the Maritime stores have been great additions to their network. Ren’s Pets chose to expand here because they saw a high percentage of customers ordering their products online from the East Coast.
“What we want to do is make sure you have happy healthy pets,” said Wasyliw. “The number one most important thing to ask is, ‘What are you feeding your pet?'”
When walking into Ren’s Pets there are shelves stocked with the top brands of pet food. On the side of the store, there are large freezers where they carry raw and frozen dog foods. They also sell treats, grooming tools, and toys.
For their first month in Fredericton, Ren’s is running a Grand Opening Celebration promotion. This means that if customers sign up to be a Ren’s Rewards member, their loyalty card, from July 24th to August 29th they will get 20$ to spend in-store.
“Which is pretty cool because then you can bring your pet and you can meet our staff and you can see all the really cool stuff that we carry and you have a bit of a head start on your purchase,” said Wasyliw.
Next month Ren’s will sponsor FSPCA Pet Expo, an event that has allowed store manager Diane Moffatt to work with Fredericton’s Humane Society. Through events like this Ren’s Pets hopes to become a part of the pet community in Fredericton.
“People have been so warm and so welcoming to our brand and they continue to shop with us and share great stories about their pets and how much they love bringing them in to meet all our staff,” said Wasyliw.
Ren’s is looking into adding another location next year, potentially on the East Coast. For now, the store located in the Corbett Centre is open now.
