NB365: Claire Jenner Of Rescue Coffee In Moncton
This is part of a year-long ‘Love for Local’ series called NB365: portraits of New Brunswick entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations. Huddle is a media partner with Love for Local. Today, we hear from Claire Jenner of Rescue Coffee in Moncton.
We offer fair-trade organically grown coffee, roasted right in the Maritimes, and give 10 percent of proceeds to our partnering animal rescue organizations. Like you, we have a passion for animals in need and delicious coffee – so we’ve combined the two!
By making the choice to purchase Rescue Coffee, you’re also making the choice to give farmers fair wages, support local businesses, and give a rescue animal a second chance at life. As you could probably guess, I love animals.
When I was a child, I was always finding homeless or lost cats and dogs that I would bring home in hopes of being able to keep them. Usually, they were in very sad states- malnourished, dirty, and sometimes injured.
Most of the time we would be able to find the rightful owner of the lost pet, but the thought of a cat or dog never being able to have the love they deserve by being cared for in a forever home broke my heart.
Every morning I wake up to my dog Theo and my cat Nahla. Besides meeting their demands for breakfast, the first thing I do is brew my morning coffee. The combination of my beloved pets and a delicious cup of joe is part of my everyday routine, and we want to share that simple life pleasure with you! From all of us whom you support, we thank you.
