Pump House Brewery To Begin Exports To The Netherlands
MONCTON – Pump House Brewery announced Wednesday that it will begin exporting its products into the Netherlands.
While the brewery has previously exported smaller orders to other European countries such as France and the UK, this new partnership with Van Tol Retail is expected to help them expand into other European countries beyond the Netherlands by leveraging Van Tol’s network.
They will be one of few Canadian craft breweries to export into the Netherlands.
“We recently established a key partnership with Van Tol Retail, a major Dutch retail distributor, to bring our great products to their region. It’s not only exciting news for us at Pump House and our growth but could have repercussions for the entire craft beer industry here in New Brunswick,” said Pump House President and co-owner Brad Devarennes in a release.
Van Tol Retail serves more than 700 independent supermarkets, local shops, mobile shops, and recreational markets across the Netherlands. They have over 300 employees across the Netherlands.
Pump House says partnerships with Food and Beverage Atlantic, ONB, EDC, ACOA, and CanExport were essential in securing their partnership with Van Tol.
“The team here is truly grateful for all the local support that has made this possible and it is an honour to represent Atlantic Canada on the global stage like this,” said Devareness.
Devareness along with Kolin Barley and Brian Harriman became co-owners of Pump House Brewery in December of 2020. They are the second group of owners since the Brewery opened in 1999.

Pump House says they are looking forward to more opportunities to export globally and are hopeful this deal will help other New Brunswick craft breweries secure similar partnerships.
“It is thrilling to think of locally owned New Brunswick businesses making a splash in the global market,” said Devareness.
