Greater Moncton Home Sales Still Red-Hot
MONCTON — March was the second-best month in history for home sales in Greater Moncton according to the latest numbers.
Greater Moncton Realtors president Ryan Davison says a low inventory of homes had been an issue but that is now changing.
“Keep in mind that we’re looking at stats comparing March of 2020 when we did get shut down for a couple of weeks. Statistically, I believe the number of listings is up almost 99 percent.”
Davison says the Greater Moncton market is firing on all cylinders as we enter spring with more people putting their homes up for sale.
“Part of it is that people are starting to become comfortable with the idea of what the market is. We have some people who undoubtedly would have stayed on the sidelines digesting all of the stories and wondering what does this mean to me as a seller.”
He notes that many buyers continue to be from outside the province especially from Ontario.
With all that has happened over the last year, Davison says it’s hard to believe prices are continuing to climb higher.
He adds a new record has been set for the tenth time in the last twelve months.
