Dalley has spent almost 20 years in the utility sector in customer service, safety, environmental services, human resources and corporate communications. She was among more than 80 applicants for the position.
“We had several highly qualified and impressive candidates, but Dawn’s leadership style, energy, and strategic vision really set her apart,” said Peter Greenwood, chair of the CAA Atlantic Board, in a release. “We’re delighted to have someone of her caliber taking the helm at CAA Atlantic.”
Dalley received her MBA from Royal Roads University in British Columbia and her Bachelor of Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax. She’s held several senior positions throughout her career, most recently as vice-president of corporate and customer service at Newfoundland & Labrador Hydro.
Previously, Dalley held a variety of executive roles at the provincial Crown corporation, including vice-president, corporate services & regulatory affairs. She also sits on the Boards of the St. John’s Status of Women/Women’s Centre, Ronald McDonald House NL, as well as the Canada Revenue Agency Board of Management. She has her ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
“I’m very excited about joining the team at CAA Atlantic. They have a long track record of growth and are very successful at providing top-notch service to Members throughout Atlantic Canada,” Dalley said. “The organization also has a tremendous brand and is driving a new focus on innovation right now, which makes it a very exciting time.”
Dalley replaces Steve McCall, who served as president & CEO of CAA Atlantic for 28 years and is retiring.
“We wish Steve the very best in his retirement,” said Greenwood. “Since 1993, Steve has provided a steady presence in command, passionate leadership, and exceptional strategic vision to our organization and our Members. He directed industry-leading Membership growth and service levels, while achieving outstanding top and bottom-line growth, and building an exceptional team at CAA Atlantic.”
