Fredericton Digital Agency Announces Expanded Team Led By Women
FREDERICTON – The Ginger Agency has announced new roles for key women at the company – Kerry Wells as co-CEO, Susana Rojas as VP Creative, and Hilliary Baird as VP Client Services.
The new executives are eager to be a part of a leadership team made up of 80 percent women. It’s something they’re proud of, but hope it’s not so rare in the future. According to the company, only 15 percent of agencies have executive teams led mostly by women.
“We’re happy that we’re here and a part of it so that in the future it’s not such a big deal,” said Wells. “We hope our clients look at us and are proud to work with the team. We have a lot of strong women leaders within our client base as well and that’s something we’re all really proud of.”
As co-CEO, Wells will lead alongside co-CEO Andrew Bedford a team of 15, nine of whom are professional women.
“The support system that comes along with working with such strong women is motivating for all of us and it inspires me every day,” said Baird.
All three women have been a part of Ginger’s growth over the past decade with Wells joining at the agency’s inception and serving as president of the company. Rojas joined the agency in 2016 and Baird joined in 2017.
“I’m proud and excited to set an example for our team members with Ginger and help them achieve all the things that I already achieved and more,” said Rojas. “I’m excited for the rest of the team to come with me on this new adventure.”
Wells, Rojas, and Baird are keen to take what they’ve learned over their careers into their new roles with the company. They want to share what they believe to be essential to their success: being true to themselves, knowing their strengths, and understanding the value of teamwork.
“Know your worth, know your strengths, and really play them up to their fullest because we’re our own worst critics,” said Baird. “If you’re genuine and authentic and true to yourself every single day, it’s just going to come out in what you do and people will feel that.”
“Really leaning into those strengths and surrounding yourself with people that support your strengths and bring other things to the table that are going to balance out and help you grow as a person,” added Wells.
Rojas echoes this sentiment, saying knowing the value of your creative output is key to success.
“As a graphic designer, it’s easy for people to give their opinions and critique my work. Learning to not take it personally and know it’s nothing against me has been one of the biggest challenges in my job,” said Rojas. “But that has made me a stronger person because now I’m more confident in what I do, and I believe more in what I do.”
Ginger is a digital agency founded in 2010 that specializes in branding, digital marketing, graphic design, and web design. In the past, they have worked on building brands for the Wallace McCain Institute for Business Leadership, Ross Ventures, and the Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival.
“I have nothing but positive feelings and so much pride,” said Wells. “I think it shows in our work and I hope our clients see that and recognize that we’re happy and we work hard.”
