Yuzu Sushi Opens Moncton Location
MONCTON – Yuzu Sushi, a franchise brand of quick-serve sushi from Quebec, opens its first Moncton location at 200 Ivan Rand Dr. on Monday.
Along with The Wellness Exchange, it is one of the businesses occupying the commercial space on the first floor of the Tannery Place.
The Tannery Place is part of the Junction Urban Village at the western end of downtown Moncton, off of Vaughan Harvey Blvd. It includes two towers, Tannery Place South and North, with a total of 138 residential units, as well as a GoodLife gym, among others.
“I’ve been looking for the perfect spot for many years now, and when I found it with my commercial agent, I refuse to wait any longer,” said Caroline Roy, who owns the Yuzu Sushi locations in Bathurst and now, Moncton.
She said she’s excited to see the customers that the area is going to bring to the business.
I’m seeing a lot of people working around that area that are looking to, not necessarily grab lunch in down Main Street where it’s very busy and there’s not enough parking,” she said. “We’re fortunate enough to have lots of parking and being able to be easily accessible for quick service.”
She also hopes to attract customers that go to nearby businesses like the gym and The Wellness Exchange.

Roy says she has owned the Bathurst business for five years. Despite the pandemic, the business has maintained sales due to its quick-serve model, as well as take-out. While some other Yuzu Sushi restaurants offer delivery, Roy’s locations haven’t yet.
“It’s something that we will look into long-term,” she said.
Yuzu Sushi has 140 locations in Quebec and New Brunswick. Its other New Brunswick locations are in Campbellton and Tracadie-Sheila, though those are not owned by Roy.
Yuzu Sushi offers an a la carte menu, as well as ready-to-go dishes made fresh daily for customers to pick up. Customers can also order online, via app or by phone. Customers coming in can order and get their food at the cash counter.
Roy doesn’t plan on offering a dine-in option for a few weeks at the Moncton restaurant, but will later add about eight seats.
“We’re very excited to finally be able to open. This is a big project for us, and we’ve been looking forward to this for a long time,” Roy said. “I know that we’ll fit in just perfectly with all the other businesses, and we can’t wait to be a part of this community.”
