CyberNB Launches Incubator, Accelerator Programs
FREDERICTON – CyberHatch, the name of CyberNB’s new incubator and accelerator, will welcome five companies at a time with up to four cohorts expected per year.
CyberNB expects the program to drive immigration and create jobs in New Brunswick. CyberNB will make a multi-million-dollar investment along with partners Keirestsu Forum, the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation, Knowledge Park, and Miltacs.
“We are so pleased to launch the CyberHatch program to foster cybersecurity innovation and talent in New Brunswick,” said Tyson Johnson, CEO of CyberNB. “CyberHatch will bring global organizations to our province, create high-paying jobs, and see millions in investment from new revenue sources to grow this already thriving sector.”
CyberHatch will be open to start-ups and scale-ups across the world who are involved in the development of secure technologies for the protection of critical infrastructure. It will operate out of New Brunswick’s Cyber Centre.
Companies accepted into the program will have their executives and founders relocated to New Brunswick to develop and test their technologies in a collaborative environment.
Planet Hatch and Keiretsu Forum will provide visa sponsorship for global companies entering CyberHatch.
“One of our mandates through this relationship will be to leverage our international presence to identify and guide companies into New Brunswick for incubation and scale,” said Ozan Isinak, president of Keiretsu Forum Canada. Keiretsu Forum is the largest angel syndicate in the world.
The program will also connect participants with CyberNB’s Critical Infrastructure Protection Network to help them find partners and opportunities to grow, increase lines of business, and access new export opportunities.
CyberHatch also offers members mentorship opportunities, co-location space, peer support, and research funding. The incubator program welcomes founders of pre-revenue start-ups while the accelerator invites companies that are actively growing to apply.
“With over $110-million dollars being allocated to 200+ companies from across our global ecosystem every year, we are excited to partner with CyberHatch to open up eastern Canada’s potential in digital resiliency and critical infrastructure protection initiatives,” said Isinak.
Companies interested are invited to apply on CyberNB’s website.
