Fast Company Editor Will Be Keynote Speaker At Virtual Atlantic Chamber Workshop
Stephanie Mehta, Editor-in-Chief of Fast Company magazine, will be the keynote speaker at the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce Forge Ahead 2020 workshop on October 28.
Fast Company is one of the most influential magazines championing creativity, innovation, and thriving workplace cultures for a new generation of businesses, their leaders and employees. Mehta will be speaking to Atlantic Canadians on how business owners can build an innovative culture to make their company a “fast company.”
Over the last year the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce has been implementing an Atlantic Canadian pilot program aimed at encouraging business owners to adopt smart technological solutions, and helping students, in particular young women, understand the immense career opportunities within advanced manufacturing.
“We are thrilled to have Stephanie Mehta speak at our virtual workshop,” said Sheri Somerville, CEO of the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that business owners can learn from on how to evolve from the old way of doing things to inventing the future of business, and particularly how women can thrive in this space.”
The Forge Ahead 2020 Virtual Workshop, “Advanced Manufacturing in Atlantic Canada: The productivity boost your business or career needs”, will feature a variety of speakers including industry experts, business owners and education professionals. The panel discussions will be focused on how SMEs can implement smart technologies and how educational institutions can ensure students are ready to join the workforce.
“Atlantic Canadian manufacturing companies are well aware that we are at risk of losing global competitiveness and falling behind if we do not embrace advanced manufacturing,” Somerville. “This workshop will feature business owners who have successfully implemented smart technologies and facilitate a discussion on how educational facilities can ensure our youth are ready to work in these dynamic sectors.”
