Firefighters Battle Blaze At Sydelle’s Fish And Chips In Bedford
BEDFORD, N.S.- A very popular Bedford fish and chips restaurant, Sydelle’s, caught fire Tuesday afternoon and firefighters were still battling the blaze nearly an hour later.
The Halifax Fire Department received a call to respond to the fire at Rocky Lake Drive around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brad Connors, district chief with the Halifax Fire Department, wouldn’t say how much damage was caused by the flames.
“[We can’t say] at this time,” said Connors just after 3:15 p.m. “Crews are still actively fighting and searching for the fire at this location. So, we’re still in the process of putting the fire out.”
Connors went on to say no other buildings were at risk from the fire and there were no injuries to report.
“Our investigators have been called in,” said Connors. “Once they arrive on the scene then we will determine the cause.”
