Propel Looking For Atlantic Canada’s ‘Next Global Company’ With New Contest
Startup businesses across the region have a chance at winning a prize pack worth $50,000 in a new contest from Atlantic Canadian tech accelerator Propel.
“We wanted to find a way to encourage the bright minds of Atlantic Canada to look at the pandemic as an opportunity to take a leap and launch their new venture,” said Propel CEO, Barry Bisson, in a release.
The Startup Summer Showdown winner will get Propel programming and coaching services; advertising, graphic design, and marketing services from Brainworks; professional services from billing lawyers, clerks and students at LaBarge Weinstein LLP; professional accounting services from EY; and two $5000 cash awards from Innovacorp and New Brunswick Innovation Foundation (NBIF).
The prize is designed to help the winning startup get to the next level in business.
To enter, the interested startup must record an elevator pitch and submit a presentation to get in the running for the prizes.
Throughout August, the applicants will be facing off on social media. The public will vote each week until there’s a winner.
“This contest will provide a new startup venture with all of the services and some cash to start working on their idea and hopefully create the beginning of the next global company based in Atlantic Canada,” Bisson said in a release.
Startups have until August 6 to submit.
