Ray Gracewood Leaves Organigram
MONCTON – Ray Gracewood, Organigram’s senior vice-president of marketing and communications, has left the Moncton-based cannabis producer.
The company announced Gracewood’s departure in a release Tuesday, noting that he left “to pursue other interests.”
“Ray is a pioneer in cannabis marketing. He has been instrumental in launching Organigram’s medical business and building out its adult-use recreational brand portfolio,” said CEO Greg Engel in the release.
The company said Gracewood made “many foundational contributions” to the company during his time there, helping it win various industry awards. The most recent ones being a Lift Canadian Cannabis Award for Top High THC Oil, and four Leafly’s Readers Choice Awards for its flower, pre-roll, CBD oil and THC oil products.
Julie Chamberlain, who joined the company in August last year as senior director of the brand, is now vice-president of marketing.
Chamberlain has over 12 years of international experience, including at L’Oréal’s head office in Paris, Irving Oil, and cosmetics company NYX. Her work in building high performing teams in consumer packaged goods focused on retail, indirect and e-commerce growth.
Organigram recently signed a deal with Israeli firm Canndoc, opening doors to new international markets. However, like most businesses, the company has also had to make changes due to Covid-19, announcing earlier this month that it has reduced its workforce by 220 employees.
